Paper VS Cement

The artists are from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, Milan and of the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice: students, professors, printmakers and tutors: all artists working on print paper.
The artists exhibiting are Alberto Balletti, Ana Brumat, Giulia Gentilcore, Leonardo Marenghi, Giuseppe Pernigotti, Gianluca Rossitto, Alice Russo, Marco Trentin, Giuseppe Vigolo, Jue Wang and Vincenzo Zancana.
The artists’ works were chosen in order to have a visual impact, and establish a relationship with the distinctive strength of the Galerija Stab’s raw cement walls. We trust in the ancient history of paper resistance!
This research project develops under the skin of the paper and over the cement moulding, between the imprints of human images. Paper VS Cement crosses the boundary wall that further curbs its identity. Our etchings are an opportunity to build a new urban skyline, whilst our fragments recall the memory. Etchings as a structure for the memory and etchings that represent time shared. Etchings that visually narrate human history on an equal footing.
The characteristic of Paper VS Cement is the unit of measurement of fragments of printed narrative: the format 70X100 cm of the print papers.

Gli artisti in mostra provengono dall’ambiente delle Accademie di Belle Arti di Brera e di Venezia: artisti printmakers, studenti, professori e tutor di laboratorio: tutti artisti che lavorano su carta

Le opere degli artisti sono state selezionate per l’impatto visivo, dovendo stabilire una relazione con i possenti muri in cemento della Galerija Stab’s. Crediamo fermamente nell’antica storia della resistenza della carta!
Questo progetto di ricerca si sviluppa sotto la pelle della carta e sopra le colate di cemento, tra le impronte di immagini umane impresse.
Paper VS Cement attraversa il muro di frontiera oltre le limitazioni delle identità. Le nostre stampe sono un’opportunità per ricostruire lo skyline urbano, mentre i nostri frammenti ne richiamano la memoria. L’incisione come struttura della memoria e il segno inciso come rappresentazione del tempo condiviso. Segni che narrano visualmente la storia umana su un piano di parità.
